Being nothing if not ambitious, this was my first attempt at a patchwork project after doing a Beginners Patchwork class. It is based on a cartoon by Brian Sullivan that I really liked the first time I saw it, long ago in a Doctor Who book. With the Doctor hiding among the quilts, what could be better than to turn him into a quilt. I designed it by blowing the cartoon up on a photocopier until it was the size I wanted and using that as the template for the pattern pieces. It is all hand appliqued and hand quilted. Since this photograph was taken, the quilt has also been signed by Colin Baker.
